Product Overview
Lycopodine | T13764 | TargetMol Chemicals
CAS: 466-61-5
Smiles: [H][C@]12C[C@@H](C)C[C@]34N(CCC[C@]3([H])C(=O)C1)CCC[C@]24[H]
Formula: C16H25NO
Pathway: Apoptosis|||Metabolism|||Proteases/Proteasome
Target: Lipoxygenase|||Caspase
Receptor: N/A
Bioactivity: Lycopodine inhibits proliferation of HeLa cells through induction of apoptosis via caspase-3 activation. Lycopodine, a pharmacologically important bioactive component derived from Lycopodium clavatumspores, triggers apoptosis by modulating 5-lipoxygenase, and depolarizing mitochondrial membrane potential in refractory prostate cancer cells without modulating p53 activity.
